Mortgage Intermediaries authorised under the Consumer Credit Act, 1995 (as amended) seeking to have their authorisation revoked should:
- Submit a letter to the Revocations Section in Financial Institutions and Funds Authorisation (FIFA) Department stating that you wish to revoke your authorisation
- Attach your Authorisation Certificate
- Check if there are any outstanding Industry Funding levies due – you can contact our Planning & Finance Department at: funding.pfd@financialregulator.ie

Insurance/Reinsurance Intermediaries
Insurance/Reinsurance Intermediaries registered under the European Communities (Insurance Mediation) Regulations 2005 (‘IMR’) seeking to have their registration cancelled under Regulation 10 of the IMR should:
- Attach a letter to the Revocations Section in Financial Institutions & Funds Authorisation (FIFA) Department stating that you wish to cancel your registration under the IMR
- Send in your Certificate of Registration
- Check if there are any outstanding Industry levies due – you can contact our Planning & Finance Department at: funding.pfd@financialregulator.ie

Multi-Agency Intermediaries (MAI)/Authorised Advisors (AA) authorised under Section 10 of the Investment Intermediaries Act, 1995 (as amended) (‘IIA’).

'Deemed' Authorised' authorised under Section 26 of the Investment Intermediaries Act, 1995 (as amended).

Enter your firm’s/your name and check the ‘entity type’. Among the categories are:
- Investment Business Firm (which is a ‘Section 10’ Authorisation) or:
- Investment Business Firm (MAI – Deemed RAIPI)

Multi-Agency Intermediaries (MAI)/ Authorised Advisors (AA)
An investment business firm authorised under Section 10 of the Investment Intermediaries Act, 1995 (as amended) (‘IIA’) seeking to revoke its authorisation should submit the following:
- A letter to the Financial Institutions & Funds Authorisation (FIFA) Department stating that it wishes to revoke its authorisation
- Confirmation that all of the firm’s liabilities, duties and obligations have been discharged
- A copy of the letter sent to the firm’s product producers (with whom the firm holds/held appointments – see below) confirming the cessation of business
- A copy of the letter sent to the firm’s clients confirming the cessation of business
- A copy of the notice of discontinuance (sample below) published in a national newspaper, which must include a full list of the IIA product producers that the firm held appointments with. (The notice of discontinuance can only be published in a national newspaper once the appointments have been discontinued.|)
- The firm’s Statement of Authorised Status.

Pursuant to Section 31 of the Investment Intermediaries Act, 1995 (as amended), [Insert Company Name and Address] hereby gives notice that it has discontinued its appointment as an investment intermediary with the following companies: - (Please list all IIA product producers here) with effect from Day/Month/Year.
The firm can add a further comment if it wishes. Please check with the Financial Regulator at revoke@financialregulator.ie for prior approval.

- Click on ‘Search’ and enter the firm’s name.
- Click on the firm’s name. Under ‘Entity Type’, the link ‘Investment Product intermediary’ will reveal the list.

An investment business firm, ‘deemed’ authorised under Section 26 of the Investment Intermediaries Act, 1995 (as amended) (‘IIA’) seeking to revoke its authorisation should submit the following:
- A letter to the Financial Institutions & Funds Authorisation (FIFA) Department stating that it wishes to revoke its authorisation
- A copy of the letter sent to the firm’s product producers (with whom the firm holds/held appointments – see below) confirming the cessation of business
- A copy of the letter sent to the firm’s clients confirming the cessation of business;
- A copy of the notice of discontinuance (sample below) published in a national newspaper, which must include a full list of the IIA product producers that the firm held appointments with.
